Cure for Colic
Thursday, December 31st, 2009A cure for colic? Well not really. The day that there is a cure for colic it will be a major announcement, and everyone will know about it.
Do you think there can be a cure for colic? I personally don’t think there will ever be a colic cure and here is why.
Colic is an effect of brain development in infants, well that is my opinion anyway. (If you want to know why I think that then you will have to read my book about how to stop a crying baby) It stands to reason that the cure will have to affect this brain problem, and right now no doctor that is not insane would mess with giving a baby a drug that affects the brain.
What shall we do? Nothing – Let it run? Well you could, but you would cheating yourself out of seeing your baby happy.
What you should do is what any caregiver does when there is no cure, you should treat the symptoms and make the patient as comfortable as possible. It’s just like treating a sniffle, or a broken finger – there is no magic pill, but you can reduce the symptoms to ease pain and suffering for the patient.
OK so lets begin, first you need to know the symptoms. If you are a parent with a colicky infant then you pretty much will be concentrating on the main one. The Screaming!
Actually it is as simple as that to begin with. So this will be easier than you thought.
Job done…
Only joking.
How do you treat crying? Well there are 5 steps, that when put together will put your colicky baby to sleep in a few moments. Usually I only need 3 of the 5 steps used together and that is enough send baby to sleep most of the time.
I will give away Steps 1, 4 & 5 to you here now. But to get the really juicy steps you will have to go to my colic website and get the info for free.
STEP 1 Body Contact.
Touch to the front and back of baby at the same time by
using contact with your own body. This step is first because it works
in with step three. I was originally going to make this step 3 but since it is
so basic and really is required for the other actions that i decided to make
this is step one.
STEP 2 & 3 omitted.
STEP 4: Place baby in swaddle. There are Videos on my site on how to do that.
STEP 5: Pacifier – people think this is the best they can do, in these steps it is actually the worst one, and I have proved it to myself over and over. It will actually take longer for baby to sleep when you use a dummy(Pacifier).
There is of course much more detail in my free ebook. All the steps occupy A large majority of the book.
